Ok I read through the previous suggestions for adding a sniper rifle and I came up with this one. It seems pretty balanced to me but I'd like to at least get some thoughts/advice on it before I actually make a formal suggestion.

Sniper Rifle, to be found in PD's and Armories.

Holds 5 rounds and is a combination rifle and binoculars. Only does the same damage as a pistol so it's not terribly powerfull, and who ever is shot with it is notified who and from where they were shot. It can't be used unless your in a tall building so it's useless when your in face to face combat. I figure the average damage with the low number of ammo would keep it from overpowering anything. Mostly I look at it as simply combineing the binoculars with something that might be able to reach out there and touch someone. That and it might encourage people to work in pairs since it can't necessarily kill anyone easily. Plus with broadcasting where you are it might encourage people to move instead of just sitting on a building and shooting at everyone. With the inability to use it as a close in weapon it forces people to carry a backup weapon so there limited by the number of rounds they could have. Maybe max it's accuracy out at 50%

Give me some suggestions or thoughts if you have any. thanks.

Just curious about this idea. I was playing the other day and started wondering why with all the dead bodies laying around no one has ever burried them? Maybe a new item like a shovel? perhaps it could delay zeds from standing after they are killed? Maybe 5 AP to dig a hole and bury them, and 5 AP for them to get out again? just curious about peoples thoughts on this?

I had the same problem when I first started. It seems that people enjoy overcadeing just in case a mob of several hundred zeds come out of no where. You definately want to get freerunning ASAP. That made life at least liveable. Esp with people cadeing PD's and Hospitals to EHB when the people that need them the most, Newbies, can't get into them. I think maybe some of the barracade plans need to be revised to make things a little nicer for the new people? Just a thought people.

Ok, I made a couple of combat revives before being made aware that they were frowned upon.  I have changed my ways but cannot seem to escape the stigma and end up putting other survivors in jeopardy just by existing.  How do I live it down?  I am sad every time I get PKed because of this, or someone gets their generator smashed because of me.  Can anyone help?  Also, how do these pkers know that I did this?
Thank you in advance.

I am not asking people to join my group, i am just thinking we should make a plan with all the groups that want to retake Malton. And then do it

I believe that the survivor groups need to band together and defeat the zombie horde now and not when they have 3/4 of Malton and all the major groups have collapsed

I was wondering one day while browsing the internet, could a running skill work in Urban Dead?

I think it could if sufficient advantages and disadvantages are added. It could work for survivors, maybe zombies, whatever works best. It could be a normal skill but requires body building and a level requirement. When the running skill is bought it can be activated as an ability, which would include advantages and disadvantages.

Firstly, the advantages of running;
  - Being able to traverse blocks quickly and efficiently, leaving a zombie hoard behind in the dust. It could be, for example, activating running mode and travelling two blocks for one AP.
  - Fleeing when the fight turns ugly, to live to fight another day! Or, keep running if your a coward.
  - Assissting those in need in far places, but you obviously cant run from one end of the city to another, or even maybe three blocks or less... Or more, if you think its good enough.

Now the disadvantages;
  - If you continually run, you WILL get exhuasted. Sufficient skill will be abke to get you further, but not by much.
  - There could be the possibility of tripping, which could cause a waste of AP to get back up (maybe 1-5 AP cost). You could also be injured, and lose a small amount of HP. If a zombie attacks you while your down, it could get a percentage increase to hit.
  - You cant run if your surrounded by a horde of zombies obviously, but maybe you could if theres only a small amount of zombies which would average as a small one digit number.

Add your own possible idea's which could help better balance this idea and feel free to burn this idea down back to hell, just dont simply say the idea sucks, provide some reasons please.

I also realise the small chance of this idea being actually considered actually good but I'm just tossing out ideas for the hell of it.

If you are in or around the suburb known as http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/East_Grayside, and want to defend this suburb and others against the invasion of the zeds, want to help other survivors, gain a spot in Malton slowly, then this group maybe something for you.
